The AQT Quantum Tour 2026: Global Innovation and Schedule

Global “Quantum Tour 2026″ Unveiled by AQT: A New Era for European Ion-Trap Technology

Alpine Quantum Technologies (AQT), an Innsbruck-based leader in ion-trap quantum computing, has unveiled an ambitious international plan for 2026 as the fight for quantum supremacy heats up globally. The trip, “AQT on Quantum Tour 2026 Quantum Innovation!”, is a calculated attempt to expose European-made quantum gear to academics, business associates, and government officials on three continents.

The Hardware: A 19-Inch Rack with Precision

The main goal of AQT is to develop general-purpose ion-trap quantum computers capable of handling a variety of applications. For creating the first commercial 19-inch rack-mounted quantum computer, AQT has achieved international prominence, in contrast to numerous experimental setups that necessitate large laboratory space. The technology may be remotely accessed over the cloud or placed immediately on-site at customer sites because to its small form factor.

The company offers high-performance hardware tools designed to speed up independent research initiatives in addition to complete systems. AQT is positioned as a major supplier for “pioneers” in the quantum area because to its dual strategy, which offers both full computers and specialized components.

Strategic Vision: “Europe Must Reinvent Itself”

The forthcoming trip comes during a time when the Innsbruck-based company had tremendous industrial and political momentum. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen made a high-profile visit to AQT in October 2025. “Europe must and can reinvent itself!” was the audacious vision that the two leaders of state expressed during this encounter.

The drive for technical sovereignty serves as the foundation for this ambition. This is largely due to AQT’s efforts, especially the successful completion of the QCDC (Quantum Computers for Datacenters) project. With EU support, this project has made it possible to develop a cloud-based computing service for trapped-ion quantum computers, providing European enterprises and researchers with previously unheard-of access to cutting-edge technology.

Real-World Applications: From Aerospace to Public Services

Already, AQT’s technology is advancing from theoretical physics to real-world industrial applications. The business showcased a noteworthy computational fluid dynamics (CFD) application in late 2025. It claims that CFD is essential to aerospace research and that quantum computing has the ability to optimize fluid simulations in ways that traditional computers are unable to.

In addition to aerospace, the company targets numerous industries looking to advance through quantum-enhanced algorithms and public authorities to maximize public services and decision-making.

The Worldwide Schedule for 2026

AQT specialists will visit important scientific and technological centers as part of the “Quantum Tour 2026” to interact with the international community. The timetable consists of:

  • March 3–5, Mainz, Germany: The journey begins at the Atomic, Molecular, Quantum Optics and Photonics Section (SAMOP) DPG Spring Meeting.
  • March 10–12, Paphos, Cyprus: AQT will take part in the EUROHPC SUMMIT 2026, which will highlight how high-performance computing and quantum systems can be integrated.
  • (March 15–20, Denver, Colorado, USA: The company will interact with the American Physical Society community during this significant stop at the APS Global Physics Summit 2026.
  • June 4–5, Tokyo, Japan: As part of its Asian market expansion, AQT will participate in Q2B Tokyo 2026, a conference devoted to the commercial uses of quantum computing.
  • June 22–26, Hamburg, Germany: ISC High Performance 2026, one of the most important supercomputing events in the world, is returning to Europe.
  • September 6–11, Oxford, UK: The Early Career Conference in Trapped Ions (ECCTI) 2026 will highlight the next generation of scientists.
  • September 13–18, Toronto, Canada: Participation in IEEE Quantum Week 2026, a multidisciplinary gathering for quantum engineering.
  • November 15–20, Chicago, Illinois, USA: A late-year appearance at SC26, the world’s leading conference on networking and high-performance computing.
  • Dublin, Ireland (TBD): The tour is also planned to attend the 2026 European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC).

Getting in Touch with the Future

The purpose of AQT’s attendance at these gatherings is to give researchers and business executives the opportunity to make appointments and speak with specialists about how to incorporate ion-trap technology into their particular processes. As a “vibrant and forward-thinking company,” AQT keeps hiring new employees and forming alliances to support its “shared vision” of a future prepared for quantum computing.

The hardware that “lights the path to innovation” is still being developed by AQT at its Experience Center in Innsbruck, for individuals who are unable to join the tour in person.
