Banco Santander introduced the Santander X Global Challenge, The Quantum AI Leap, a significant step to lead the next wave of technological innovation. This worldwide project was created in a prominent partnership with IBM, Bluzec, and the Oxentia Foundation, aims to find and assist the most innovative businesses and scaleups operating in the fusion of quantum computing and artificial intelligence.

Entrepreneurs from ten key nations- Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, the United States, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Uruguay, are eligible to take on the challenge. The program’s main goal is to use the revolutionary potential of AI and quantum technologies to solve difficult problems in crucial industries including cybersecurity, energy, finance, healthcare, and logistics. Santander hopes to promote ideas that will transform how these sectors function in a data-driven future by emphasizing system optimization and bolstering digital security.
Projects may be submitted by participants in three different application categories:
- Quantum Hardware and AI Enhancement: Technologies that enable the scaling of quantum systems, such as enhanced hardware and the use of AI to boost stability, are referred to as quantum hardware and AI enhancement.
- Hybrid Software and Algorithms: Innovative software and applications combine AI and quantum computing to tackle practical issues are known as hybrid software and algorithms.
- Quantum-Safe Security: Technologies created to safeguard digital infrastructures against potential cryptographic threats brought on by quantum computing, guaranteeing long-term confidentiality and confidence.

Significant Benefits and Strategic Guidance
The competition offers a comprehensive prize package that is intended to help the winning businesses develop more quickly. Cash awards totaling ?120,000 will be given out, with ?90,000 going to the top three scaleups and ?30,000 going to the top three startups. In addition to the cash payout, the six winners will be admitted into the Santander X 100, a prestigious international community that honors the bank’s most exceptional business endeavors.
