SRM University AP Suggests Strategic Research Institutes and a Quantum Computing Hub to Make Amaravati as a Global Tech Hub

SRM University AP

SRM University AP has suggested building a Quantum Computer and a Quantum Reference Center on its campus as an important step to put Andhra Pradesh at the forefront of the world’s technological landscape. This program, which was created in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh government, is a significant step toward preparing the state’s workforce for quantum computing.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Satish Kumar presented a vision in which cutting-edge quantum tools and information are available to researchers, industry leaders, and students equally, rather of being restricted to elite circles. The university plans to establish a specialized Quantum Institute to support this, emphasizing quantum science and technology education, research, and innovation. Through partnerships with both academic institutions and businesses, the institute is anticipated to act as a pillar for cutting-edge research.

An Artificial Intelligence Strategic Collaboration

SRM University AP is growing its presence in other cutting-edge technologies in addition to quantum computing. Professor Satish Kumar emphasized a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed with the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. The goal of this collaboration is to create an AI Institute that will advance state-of-the-art AI education.

Importantly, the institution plans to incorporate AI teaching across a broad range of fields, including the arts, sciences, and management. This means that the AI curriculum will not be limited to engineering students. The Easwari School of Liberal Arts and the Paari School of Business are part of the university’s larger academic framework, which is consistent with this interdisciplinary approach.

The Green Hydrogen Valley and Sustainable Energy

SRM University AP is also preparing to establish an Energy Institute in light of Amaravati’s recent designation as a Green Hydrogen Valley. Clean and sustainable energy solutions will be the main focus of this facility, with a focus on green hydrogen research and the training of a qualified workforce to serve the region’s growing renewable energy industry.

The university’s current strong academic portfolio will be enhanced by these new fields of study. A wide variety of BTech programs in Civil, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering are being offered by the School of Engineering and Sciences. Additionally, the institution has robust departments in physics, mathematics, chemistry, biological sciences, and environmental science.

The institution provides specialized MTech degrees at the postgraduate level in fields like data science, cyber security, VLSI, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the internet of things (IoT). In addition, there are other BA and BSc courses in subjects including English, psychology, economics, and media studies, as well as MSc programs in molecular biology and biotechnology.

An International and Holistic Campus Life

Through its department of International Relations, SRM University AP continues to emphasize a worldwide educational experience. This includes partnerships, transfer programs, and mobility initiatives that help students pursue higher education elsewhere.

With its state-of-the-art facilities, numerous clubs and societies, virtual campus tours, and large sports facilities, the campus itself is built to support an all-encompassing student life. To guarantee academic excellence and student welfare, the university also keeps a Teaching Learning Center and offers a Student Handbook.

The university is a key player in Amaravati’s growth as it begins accepting students in 2026. In addition to being academic additions, the proposed Quantum Computing Hub and AI Institute are calculated investments in Andhra Pradesh’s human capital with the goal of developing a workforce that can spearhead the state’s next wave of technological innovations.

In conclusion

The goal of SRM University AP‘s Quantum Computing Hub in Amaravati is to develop a highly qualified workforce in the Andhra Pradesh state. To support cutting-edge research and teaching possibilities, a Quantum Reference Center and a specialized Quantum Institute will be established as part of this effort. The institution is expanding its academic horizons beyond quantum research by establishing an AI Institute in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon institution. The establishment of a green hydrogen-focused Energy Institute and the introduction of specialized degrees in disciplines like semiconductor engineering and defense are other ambitions. When taken as a whole, these tactical actions are intended to establish the organization as a pioneer in sustainable innovation and emerging technology.
