NASDAQ SEALSQ Launches Quantum-Resilient Security Stack

To safeguard the architects of the quantum era, SEALSQ unveils an end-to-end post-quantum security stack.

NASDAQ SEALSQ Quantum News

SEALSQ Corp (NASDAQ: LAES)has announced the debut of its Quantum-Resilient Vertical Security Stack amid the global battle to attain quantum dominance. This extensive hardware and software package was created especially to safeguard the businesses working on the first usable quantum computers in history, as well as the supporting infrastructure.

The Important Change in Cybersecurity

A significant milestone in the history of technology has been reached with the shift of quantum computing from theoretical research labs to industrial implementation. These potent devices pose previously unheard-of cybersecurity risks even as they have the potential to transform industries such as materials research, artificial intelligence, medicine, and financial modeling. Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and RSA are two examples of traditional cryptographic techniques that are increasingly seen as susceptible to quantum computing capabilities.

By directly integrating security measures into the hardware and system designs from the bottom up, SEALSQ’s novel vertical method seeks to mitigate these vulnerabilities. The business enables developers to create “secure-by-design” systems by including post-quantum cryptography and a hardware Root of Trust at the silicon level. This eliminates the dangers and technological debt that come with retrofitting security into pre-existing systems.

A Four-Pillar Security Architecture

SEALSQ has divided its offering into four integrated service modules to safeguard the complete lifetime of quantum systems, from cloud orchestration platforms to processor control electronics:

The Hardware Foundation of Quantum Systems

Cryogenic controllers and quantum processors can have a hardware-anchored identity with this module. The module makes use of TPM technology and SEALSQ’s secure elements to guarantee safe boot procedures and trusted device authentication. It also has Hardware Security Modules (HSM) for safe key storage and lifecycle management, as well as tamper-resistant system integrity monitoring.

Infrastructure Using Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)

NIST-standardized PQC stacks, namely CRYSTALS-Dilithium (FIPS 204) for digital signatures and CRYSTALS-Kyber (FIPS 203) for secure key exchange, are being implemented by SEALSQ. These stacks are intended to defend against upcoming quantum-enabled assaults on control networks and communications via classical-quantum interfaces. Among them are hybrid protocols that combine the best features of quantum and classical security.

Safe Semiconductor Structures for Electronic Control

SEALSQ is directly incorporating secure ASIC architectures into quantum computers, which depend on classical electronics for error correction and orchestration. This comprises high-speed data collection gear with an embedded Root-of-Trust and qubit readout devices with PQC support. SEALSQ’s OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) infrastructure allows for the customization of these components.

Quantum Computing as a Service (QCaaS) with Secure Access

SEALSQ offers the identification and communication layer for QCaaS platforms as the industry shifts to cloud-based delivery. Secure execution environments and authorized access control for processor endpoints are characteristics of this module. It guarantees that next commercial platforms are constructed on a reliable foundation by conforming to significant regulatory requirements, such as NSA CNSA 2.0 and NIST post-quantum migration timetables.

“Quantum computers will redefine the limits of computing, but they will also redefine cybersecurity risks,” said Carlos Creus Moreira, CEO of SEALSQ, indicating a strategic partnership for the future. Noting that SEALSQ is now ready to offer protection from the silicon Root of Trust all the way down to the Qbit-level, he underlined that companies developing these technologies need to make sure their foundations are reliable.

With its cybersecurity technology presently installed in more than 1.7 billion devices globally, SEALSQ joins this new sector with a track record of success. These gadgets protect a wide range of industries, including vital government networks, medical platforms, IoT, and smart home systems. SEALSQ hopes to establish itself as the leading strategic partner for businesses driving the next generation of computing by expanding these capabilities into the quantum space.

A Strategic Partnership for the Future

The quick development of the quantum danger emphasizes how urgent this goal is. The goal of SEALSQ is to make sure that the “quantum era” is based on a digital and robust framework when it arrives. They are already developing post-quantum semiconductors for a variety of uses, such as industrial automation, smart energy, and multi-factor authentication tokens.

The ability to demonstrate system integrity and safeguard sensitive data will be what sets successful systems apart when quantum computing becomes a commercial reality. By means of its Quantum Lab and collaborations, such with the BWT Alpine Formula One team, SEALSQ keeps improving the best practices for goods that are resistant to quantum errors.
