Horizon Quantum Assembles Its First In-House Quantum System

The first quantum software company to possess and run a quantum computer is Horizon Quantum.

The first quantum computer has been assembled and integrated at the Singapore headquarters of Horizon Quantum Computing Pte. Ltd. (“Horizon Quantum”), a pioneer in software infrastructure for quantum applications. At this point, the system is completely functional.

Horizon Quantum is the first quantum software firm to own and operate a quantum computer because this system was put together from parts and is managed directly by the company’s staff.

Hardware Specifics and Strategic Integration

According to Horizon Quantum, the quickest route to practical quantum computing is through close hardware and software integration. Horizon Quantum now has a testbed system with complete control over the hardware and software stack with this new commissioning. This control should help close the gap between the ideal theoretical model of quantum computation and its practical realization by enabling the corporation to directly integrate its execution stack with the electronic systems that control the quantum processor.

Instead of depending on a single source, the company used best-in-class components to create its first quantum system. The hardware setup consists of a Rigetti superconducting quantum processor, Maybell’s cryogenic platform, and Quantum Machines’ control electronics.

In Horizon Quantum’s testbed facility, which can accommodate several systems, this system is the first working quantum computer. The goal of Horizon Quantum is to operate on as many hardware platforms as possible, integrating with both cloud-based systems and quantum computers located in conventional data centers, even though this first quantum computer is built on superconducting qubits. Because of its modular design, the system may be developed in a variety of topologies and designs by simply switching out additional control electronics and quantum processors. The company’s goal of providing the best hardware-agnostic development tools for quantum computers is supported by this strategy.

Effect on the Company’s Vision and Triple Alpha

It is expected that this work would improve the functionality of Horizon Quantum’s integrated development environment, Triple Alpha. Developers can create complex, hardware-independent quantum programs at several levels of abstraction with Triple Alpha. Triple Alpha is anticipated to provide access to the internal quantum computer.

The goal of Horizon Quantum, according to its founder and CEO, Dr. Joe Fitzsimons, is to empower developers to use quantum computing to address practical problems that traditional computing cannot handle. Dr. Fitzsimons is adamant that creating the company’s own hardware testbed puts it in a favorable position to construct an advanced, hardware-agnostic development and execution stack that closely interfaces with hardware control systems, ultimately helping to unlock quantum advantage.

The goal of Horizon Quantum, which was founded in 2018 by renowned researcher Dr. Joe Fitzsimons, who has over 20 years of experience in quantum computing, is to create software architecture that enables developers to leverage broad quantum benefit.

Context of Business

At the moment, Horizon Quantum and dMY Squared Technology Group, Inc. (dMY) are combining their businesses. The commissioning of Horizon Quantum’s first internal quantum computer is a remarkable achievement that highlights the company’s leadership in developing the required software architecture, according to Harry You, Chairman and CEO of dMY Squared Technology Group, Inc. On September 9, 2025, the corporate combination agreement was signed. As the company moves closer to its goal, Mr. You expressed excitement about supporting Horizon Quantum’s ongoing operations and looked forward to closing the corporate combination.
