North Gyeongsang Province (Gyeongbuk) and Gumi City have launched a large cooperative effort to establish a “Quantum-AI Hybrid Data Center” in a historic drive to alter the regional economic environment. An important step toward the “Quantum Transformation” (QX) of the region’s industrial and technological sectors was taken on April 27, 2026, when the province government formalized a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a coalition of nine public and commercial entities.

The Gyeongbuk-style hybrid center will integrate Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) with current AI-specific technology, such as Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) and Neural Processing Units (NPUs), in contrast to typical data centers that only use binary processing.

- Financial and Strategic Investment: LS Securities enters the agreement as a financial partner with the responsibility of fostering an atmosphere that is conducive to investment in order to maintain the project’s expansion.
- Corporate Participants: In addition to the Gyeongbuk and Gumi municipal governments, I-ESG is another important signatory.
