FirstQFM AB Secures €1.2 M Pre-Seed Funding to Increase AI for Quantum

The pre-seed funding of €1.2 million was successfully obtained by FirstQFM AB, a quantum technology firm situated in Stockholm, to expedite the development of its AI foundation models for quantum computing.

Announced on October 10, 2025, this grant is worth 13.1 million SEK, which is roughly $1.4 million USD or $1.3 million USD.

Funding Sources and Leadership

BSV Ventures led the pre-seed round, with Almi Invest, Further than Capital, and Luminar Ventures joining in. Isaiah Hull, the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder, and Vish Ramakrishnan, the CEO, formed the business.

The investment’s goal

The funds are intended to hasten the creation of FirstQFM’s exclusive, patent-pending AI foundation models. The funds will specifically be used to assist existing pilot studies and the advancement of this technology.

Goals and Technology

The AI foundation models developed by FirstQFM are essential technological components intended to remove significant obstacles that presently stand in the way of the commercial use of quantum computing.

Among the main technological goals are:

  1. Improving Quantum Stack Performance: The models are designed to improve the quantum stack’s overall performance, scalability, and dependability.
  2. Resolving Fundamental Issues: Improving device calibration and error correction, which presently impede the field, is a major priority.
  3. Improving NISQ Machines: The technique aims to improve the functionality and make machines from the Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) period more useful.
  4. Path to Fault Tolerance: The technology’s ultimate goal is to facilitate the long-term development of fault-tolerant quantum computing.

The business stated that it is actively collaborating directly with creators of quantum technology and has already seen some initial performance improvements on superconducting gear.

Impact on the Market and Investor Confidence

Investors were optimistic about the company’s ability to influence several industries. In domains including chemistry, economics, life sciences, and mobility, quantum computing has enormous promise.

The solution reshapes the way quantum technology is applied to unlock consumer value, according to Erik Bhullar, Partner (or General Partner) of BSV Ventures. He emphasised that the technology makes quantum capabilities accessible to more businesses by lowering the expenses and time needed to obtain results and complete assignments.

  • Performance Verification: According to Peter Gullander, Fund Manager at Almi Invest, the performance improvements FirstQFM produced on superconducting hardware pleased them, and they are eager to see it implemented across a range of quantum modalities.
  • Transformative Potential: According to Reid Jackson, a partner at Luminar Ventures, the technology has “transformative” potential and can be applied widely in a variety of key industries.
  • Strategic Positioning: According to Stefan Lindeberg, Partner at Further than Capital, the business is well-positioned for a “strong impact on the emerging quantum computing sector” because to its technology, intellectual property, and international alliances.

To further its commercial efforts in quantum computing, Stockholm-based FirstQFM AB, a firm that specialises in quantum technology, has successfully raised €1.2 million in pre-seed capital. The company’s patent-pending AI foundation models, which aim to greatly enhance the performance, dependability, and scalability of quantum technology, will be advanced with the investment, which is headed by BSV Ventures. FirstQFM is working closely with makers of quantum hardware to tackle important issues including error correction and device calibration, with an emphasis on increasing the utility of existing NISQ-era quantum computers. The company’s ultimate goal is to assist in overcoming the technological obstacles that are preventing quantum computing from providing significant benefits to sectors such as medical sciences, chemistry, and finance.
